An extract of the Spanish fly is placed on the skin for approximately 12 hours. This creates a blister filled with lymphatic fluid. This blister will be partly acupunctured and sometimes the fluid will be injected back into the skin. Here the goal is again to influence diseases and conditions of inner organs, joints and the spinal cord. Example: treatment of acute middle ear inflammation of children without antibiotics. These Cantharidin patches have a long standing tradition and were even used by herbalists during the times of the Roman Empire.

One of the longest known practices here at our medical practice is the dry and bloody cupping. In the middle ages the profession of the “Cupper” was very highly recognized. During the process of cupping, glasses are placed on the skin. The bloody cupping causes small punctures on the skin before the glasses are placed upon them. Especially on the back are very important cupping locations that are linked to segments of the body. Almost like a map, every organ has its own special cupping location on the back. With this “map“ it is possible to influence the therapy of inner organs, the spinal cord or joints (see Baunscheidt-Therapy).

Baunscheidt-Therapy

In this therapy the skin is again used as a reflex zone for inner organs, joints and spinal cord segments. After the pre-treatment a special oil is massaged into the skin which leads to the desired healing effect. A reflex transmitting from the skin to inner organs / joints and the spinal cord is used. The scope of application is considerably large: orthopedic conditions; malfunctioning of inner organs like gastritis, liver disease, bronchial asthma; urological and gynecological disease patterns.
